Jaclyn is now in the Seattle area after teaching and performing in New York City for 7 years. She received her Master of Music from Oklahoma City University, where she studied with Florence Birdwell, original teacher to Kristin Chenoweth and Kelli O’Hara.
Since, she has taught at Third Street Music School Settlement in Manhattan, various studios in Brooklyn and Connecticut, as well as throughout the Dallas metroplex.
Her students have gone on to perform in various shows on Broadway, off-Broadway, and gained acceptance to some of the most competitive performing arts programs in New York City. In addition to teaching voice, Jaclyn has music directed several projects, taught beginning/intermediate piano, and developed and executed musical theater class curriculum. During this time, Jaclyn continued to gain experience performing in regional theaters, internationally with Holland America Line Cruises, and gave a featured performance at the United Nations in Vienna, Austria.
Jaclyn focuses on pairing healthy vocal technique with interpretation. While creating an individualized classical foundation, students are encouraged to explore various styles of singing. Breathing and posture are incorporated to execute full body production of the voice. Once technique has been instilled, she guides students in customizing their interpretation, adding color to their instrument. Jaclyn also specializes in audition, competition, and performance prep. She is incredibly passionate about the growth of her students, knowing that each student has something unique to offer and improve upon. We all have one voice—let’s work together to cultivate your fullest instrument!
