Tess Freedel is a guitarist, vocalist and pianist based in Seattle, WA, with teaching studios in Issaquah and West Seattle. She has studied Instrumental Jazz Studies and Music Business at Columbia College Chicago, while working closely with mentor Bill Boris, jazz legend and sideman to Bo Diddley.
Tess has a strong background in music theory and multiple musical styles, encompassing Jazz, Rock, Punk, Pop, Country and Funk. Through teaching she aims to provide each student with the tools to take their creativity to the next level while keeping lessons fun and exciting. She loves to encourage her students to discover new sounds while learning the music they already know and love. A student of music business, she is also a resource for musicians learning to set up their first shows and gain confidence on stage.
A fan of a well rounded approach to teaching and playing, she has toured and performed with local acts The Carpets, Trick Candles, Brian Vogan and his Goodbuddies, No Bollocks (Sex Pistols Cover band), Tim Held, Albatross Jazz combo, Radio Atlas and many more. In her free time she can be found drinking bad coffee and shopping for pedals.
