For the past decade, I have been teaching private voice and piano, as well as staying actively involved in my church music program, local choirs, and local musical theater productions. My passion is helping students grow as performers and vocalists no matter their skill level. Whether it is introducing the beginner student to the stage, developing proper techniques and good habits (as opposed to trying to break bad habits once the student has gotten older), or learning the basics of music and music theory, I can help students to excel while developing a passion and love for music.
For the intermediate student ready to go to the next level — who wants to “nail” that next audition at their school or local theater — I can provide tools and techniques to help them rise to the top of their potential. I have had the pleasure of coaching more advanced students in preparing vocal pieces for their college auditions and scholarships, and building a repertoire of arias, classics, art songs, and or Musical Theater pieces.
Whatever your musical aspirations, I can help you accomplish your goals and maximize your potential so that you are fully ready to “Take the Stage”!

Leah relates well to students of all ages and their parents. She is a responsible and enthusiastic teacher that encourages and motivates her students to improve their skills while sharing her love of music. She is a very talented performer.

As a shy person who has trouble coming out of my shell, I was happy to work with Leah because of her warm and friendly personality.
As a result of lessons, I've become more confident in sharing my voice, and have thus gotten to know it more. This was essential in order to get behind the technical issues I've had with singing.
I took lessons with Leah for only a short time before I moved from Issaquah, but the valuable experience has me well-prepared to work with future voice coaches, and to sing loud and proud!

I had two children who look lessons from Leah Mainard. One was a teenager who took voice lessons for four years. My other was a five-year old who was beginning piano lessons. Leah was always very professional, encouraging to both of my girls, and dedicated to helping them improve. She held mini-recitals with just her students playing for each other and also an end-of-year recital for the students to perform in front of family and friends. Leah has a great love for kids and teaching.

Leah has been so amazing for my young kids. She is amazing at connecting with them, engaging them, and helping them learn while having a lot of fun. My kids look forward to their weekly MusiKids classes, and I have been happy with how much they are learning about music theory!

I took voice lessons from Leah Mainard for 4 years. She is kind and not overbearing. She goes at the pace of the student so as not to overwhelm them, but she also challenges the student to branch out from their comfort zone. I highly recommend her.
