Warren Murray is a consummate musician who plays guitar in numerous styles including blues, rock, new age, acoustic folk and classical. He is also a talented harmonica player who has studied with some of the best. Warren has taught hundreds to play harmonica over a decade of teaching guitar, harmonica, mandolin, ukulele and piano.
Warren goes beyond being a talented guitarist and has a unique passion for blues and delta blues. He pays tribute in his own unique way to the genius of blues legends such as Son House, Charlie Patton, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters.
As a harmonica teacher, Warren draws from classic legendary players such as James Cotton, Sonny Boy Williamson, Little Walter and Charlie Musselwhite and also some of the Pacific Northwest’s best, including Dick Powell, Paul Green and John Marshall.
He is skilled at and teaches mandolin in folk, blues and jazz chord styles as well as ukulele for popular songs and basic piano. He has an admired reputation for teaching keyboard to youth. He holds a BA in Music and also post graduate studies.
Warren has released five CDs and has performed throughout the NW and Seattle as well as traveling to popular music venues in Portland, New Orleans and the Mississippi Delta.
He is the author of the Blues Harmonica Workshop Book available in Seattle music centers and lessons studios.
