This fund was set up by the Byther family in memory of their son Brady, a guitarist and student at Kaleidoscope and a seven-year member of the school’s 7th rock ensemble Gravity’s Curve. Brady passed away far too young in January 2023 after a brief struggle with cancer. We miss Brady’s light and talent in the Issaquah music community, and want to honor his memory through a fund in his name.

Donations are stored in a separate bank account earmarked for scholarships, special projects and pro-level equipment. Kaleidoscope has used donations in the past to help students continue their lessons and band involvement through difficult economic downturns for their families, or be involved in more programs at Kaleidoscope than they could otherwise afford. We have also invested in equipment, recording and video gear that are not necessary for the bands but enable them to have a higher pro-level experience than the school could otherwise afford.
