Ron started playing the playing the trumpet at the age of ten, first studying with his father, an amateur trumpet player and classical music enthusiast. He later studied trumpet with Del Hartman, and Roy Cummings while earning his BA in music education at the University of Washington. Since college Ron has been playing music professionally and teaching privately for more than 20 years. Proficient in many different styles, Ron’s playing can be heard currently in the traditional Cuban septet Supersones, the Full Circle Jazz Orchestra, Hopscotch, Deseo Carmin, and various jazz settings.
