Adam is currently taking drum set/percussion and composition/song-writing students age 9 and up.
With over 30 years of personal, academic and professional experience, Adam Baumol brings an extraordinarily diverse level of knowledge and expertise to every lesson.
Adam’s teaching style centers on one key principle: everyone learns differently. The information shared, the techniques used, the combination of written/aural exercises, song/style choices, etc., MUST be malleable to accommodate for the infinite variety of experience, goals and needs of each individual student. Therefore, every lesson will receive its own unique balance of theory, exercise, performance and fun, to ensure regular, meaningful and ENJOYABLE progress.
Adam currently offers online and in-person lessons in the following subjects/disciplines:
• Drum Set (all styles/genres)
• Percussion (Orchestral/World)
• Songwriting/Composing/Arranging
• Music Theory/Ear Training
Throughout his adolescent years, Adam studied Piano, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, Guitar, Drum Set and Orchestral Percussion. He then went on to study music at the University of Delaware, earning a B.M. in Percussion Performance (’06) and an M.M. in Music Theory/Composition (’08).

Upon graduation, Adam relocated to New Orleans, LA, where he spent over a decade working tirelessly in pursuit of his musical ambitions, earning regular work as a Professional Drummer, Percussionist, Educator, Composer, Arranger, Transcriber, Audio Engineer and Original Music Producer.
As a performer, Adam has worked with hundreds of ensembles of all shapes and sizes, regularly playing shows at some New Orleans’ most iconic venues (Tipitina’s, The Maple Leaf, One-Eyed Jack’s, The Spotted Cat).
He’s toured Regionally (Gulf Coast), Nationally (Alaska to Key West) and Internationally (China, France, Germany, Poland, The Netherlands, Sweden & Israel) with various artists and ensembles (including Jason Ricci & The Bad Kind, In Business, China Magpie, Gravy Flavored Kisses, Dave Jordan & The NIA, and 6ixwire); served as Band Manager, Booking Agent and Road Manager for a number of original projects; and recorded (performed on), engineered and/or produced dozens of original albums and records.

His musical contributions can also be heard on a number of original albums, including ‘Space Story’ and ‘Cop Show’ by In Business (Concept Funk) and ‘Angry Bear’ by Angry Bear (NOLA Prog).
Throughout his time in New Orleans, Adam maintained a regular schedule of both in-person and online lessons, teaching Drum Set, Percussion, Music Theory, Piano, Guitar, as well as assisting a few students with upcoming auditions/exams. As a classically-trained, street-honed educator, Adam brought a unique combination of academics and practical application to his lessons, providing his students with a solid theoretical foundation that allowed them to more confidently explore their own interests, talents, ambitions and passions.
In December 2020 Adam left the Crescent City and moved across the country once again, this time to the great PNW. He now lives in Seattle with his partner Nichelle and their kitty, Madame Bubblesnax.
