As a teacher, Peter focuses on being flexible to the individual student’s needs while keeping the lessons fun and engaging.  His approach involves teaching music theory along with reading charts and learning tunes.  He strives to have his students understand the “why and how” of music so they can develop their musical ability at a faster pace. Peter is well versed at teaching a multitude of styles such as jazz, classical, funk, gospel, rock, pop, and R&B and has experience teaching all ages.  He also teaches musical composition and improvisation.

Peter graduated Cum Laude from Pierce College with an AA in music. He also studied jazz piano and composition with Randy Halberstadt, one of Seattle’s leading jazz pianists, at Cornish College of the Arts.  He currently performs with a multitude of musicians around the greater Seattle and Tacoma area as a freelance keyboardist.  He also leads his own fusion jazz quartet called Velocity, for which he composes and arranges all the material.
